HCO Beginner Windsurfing Outing

Date: Sunday, 6/17 - (12:30pm-5:30pm)

Women can do as well or better than men because knowing the correct technique matters more than strength!

There are many current and former HCO members that have been able to start sailing during this beginner class!!!

Try the exhilarating sport of Windsurfing!

Enjoy the sunset at the Oasis Restaurant afterwords and free Salsa music from the Brew from 7pm-10pm!

This is a pre-pay event.

A 4-hour & 45 minute comprehensive group class that includes the following:

40-minute classroom session

1½ hour land simulator session

2½ hour on-water session

Equipment and safety vests provided

No experience necessary

Safety is emphasized and the student learns the basics of wind theory, rigging, balance, proper positioning and making turns by tacking. Students must know how to swim and be able to hold their breath under water for 5 seconds. Minimum age is 12 years.

Location: Bob Wentz Park at Windy Point on Lake Travis (7144 Comanche Trail). The park is located 2 miles beyond the Oasis Restaurant on Comanche Trail. Please pay the $10.00 park fee at the small kiosk.

Carpooling is encouraged. Meet/Park in the back parking lot of the Oasis Restaurant & come together.

Meeting place: The volleyball court near the entrance located on the cove at 12:20pm (60 yards from the kiosk).

Pricing for HCO members: $79.00

Prior HCO students receive a discount = $74.00   Teenagers from 12-18 yrs. = $65.00

Minimum per class = 4 students*

Maximum per class = 6 students

*Class may be rescheduled if fewer than 4 pre-register.
