Answers
What is Hill Country Outdoors (HCO)?
HCO provides you with the opportunity to enjoy more of what Central Texas has to offer while in the company of like-minded, fun seekers. We are Austin's most active and fastest growing social and outdoor activity club. We offer you a packed event calendar from which you can pick and choose the events of your liking. HCO allows you to have fun and meet new people in a relaxed, no-pressure environment!
What HCO is NOT:
HCO is NOT a dating or singles club. Couples and families are welcome and encouraged to join! HCO does not have any religious or political affiliations. We strive to make all people feel welcome in the club. HCO is NOT a non-profit group. We are a business that provides a service paid for with members' dues.
Is my credit card information secure?
We use VeriSign to process our online transactions. VeriSign protects your credit card and other confidential information with industry-leading SSL encryption. Your credit card number and information is never made available, even to the management of the club.
Is my member data secure?
We understand the need for privacy. HCO will never divulge information about its members to anyone. Your member profile gives you the option to display your personal information to other members of the club only if you choose to so.
Can I get a refund on my membership dues?
HCO does not refund membership dues once they have been paid.
Can I get a refund if I cancel for a pre-paid event?
Unless otherwise noted in the Event Payment Details, as a general rule, refunds may be obtained provided that cancellations are received at least 72 hours prior to the Event (5% will be deducted to cover credit card processing fees). However, refunds for events are not guaranteed. Refunds depend upon the policies of 3rd party vendors and other factors. By registering for this event, you understand that you may not receive a full refund should you need to withdraw. All cancellation and refund requests should be made to JAMIE BRIERTON at administrator@hillcountryoutdoors.com or by calling (512) 771-5887.
How can I cancel my membership?
If you join under either a semi-annual or annual membership plan, your membership will expire on your renewal data if you choose not to renew. If you join under the monthly membership plan, your credit card will automatically be billed on the same date as your signup date each month. To cancel your monthly membership, e-mail your request to: administrator@hillcountryoutdoors.com at least 5 days before your next monthly renewal date.
Can I bring my kids or pets to an event?
That depends on the specific event. Not every event is kid or pet friendly. In the description of each event will be icons telling you whether kids or pets are welcome to attend. Please remember that members are responsible for any damage their kids or pets may cause and HCO assumes no responsibility for any injuries. HCO may ask a parent to sign a liability waiver on behalf of a child attending certain events.
What do my dues cover?
HCO is a "for profit" organization. Your HCO dues get you access to the HCO interactive web site featuring the HCO events calendar. Only members have the ability to see the full details for every event including times, places, maps, directions and contact information. Members can RSVP for events on the HCO site as well. Most HCO events are for members and their guests only.
Your dues help to cover the administrative costs of planning and executing the events on the HCO events calendar. We strive to host at least one event every day so that you’ll always have a lot of diverse events to choose from. We do the planning and organizing, you just show up and have fun!
How much are memberships for spouses and family members?
Spouses and/or family members over 16 years of age within the same household are eligible for a half-priced membership. Kids under the age of 16 get a free membership. If you would like to add a spouse or family member as a member of HCO, please send an e-mail with your request to: administrator@hillcountryoutdoors.com, so that the correct billing profile can be set up.
Are the events free?
Most events are free but it depends on the event. Some events may require the purchase of tickets or incur some travel costs. Each event listing will clearly state if it is free or not, and if not, what the anticipated costs will be. We always strive to get group discounts for our members.
Can I bring a guest to an HCO event?
Guests are usually welcome at HCO events. In the description of each event will be an icon telling you whether guests are welcome to attend.
We do enforce a couple of guidelines in the interest of fairness to all members. Members will take priority over guests at events where space is limited. Members bringing guests to an HCO event are responsible for that guest's behavior and any damage that they may cause.
What is HCdOugh?
HCdOugh is our customer loyalty program. You can earn HCdOugh (i.e. credit) two ways. First, for every new member you refer to HCO, you will receive $20 in HCdOugh. Make sure your friends put your full name in the 'Referred By' field when they join. This is the only way we can track referrals. Second, you can earn HCdOugh by renewing your membership: Renew for a semi-annual membership and you'll earn $10 in HCdOugh, or renew for an annual membership and you'll earn $15 in HCdOugh.
HCdOugh can be used two ways. First, you can use HCdOugh toward paying for pre-paid events. For example, say you want to register for a pre-paid event that costs $20 and you have $15 of HCdOugh in your account. When you register for the event, your $15 in HCdOugh will be applied as a credit, and you will only have to pay $5 out-of-pocket via your credit/debit card on file with HCO. Second, you can also use HCdOugh when you shop in the online "HCO to Go" store to pay for HCO merchandise.
HCdOugh is non-transferable. Unfortunately, you can't take it with you. HCdOugh is only usable while you are a member of HCO.
HCdOugh is our way of saying thanks for being, and staying, a member of HCO, as well as for referring new members to the club.
